History

POSIC S.A. is a privately-owned company, specialized in miniature inductive encoders for incremental linear and rotational applications. The company is headquartered in Neuchâtel, Switzerland and was founded in April 2001 as a spin-off from CSEM (Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology).


Mission

Our mission is the development, production and sales of inductive sensors and encoder kits based on our proprietary Microcoil technology. We consider ourselves a "solution provider for position sensing in mechatronics and motion control applications".

Technology

POSIC’s position sensors and encoders are all based on the “coil on chip” technology. This patent-protected technology enables the fabrication of the world’s smallest coil structures for inductive sensing. It puts POSIC in the position to deliver the smallest and most accurately defined sensor coils. More detailed information under “Technology”


Customized solutions

As the mechatronic applications in which encoders and encoder-kits  are applied are very widespread, there is no “standard solution” for speed and position measurement and therefore POSIC offers the possibility of customization of encoder and the corresponding codewheel or scale for a specific application.
