History and Mission

Headquarters in Neuchatel, Switzerland

POSIC is a privately-owned company, specialized in miniature inductive encoder kits. The company is headquartered in NeuchâtelSwitzerland and was founded in April 2001 as a spin-off from CSEM (Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology).

Our mission is the development, production, marketing and sales of miniature inductive position sensors based on our coil-on-chip technology. We provide complete position sensing solutions for motion control and mechatronic applications. Markets served include industrial automation, medical devices, automotive, robotics, instrumentation, machine-tools, laboratory automation etc.

Technology

POSIC encoder with separate coil-chip and electronics-chip

Our position sensors and encoder kits are all based on the “coil-on-chip” technology, which enables the fabrication of the world’s smallest inductive sensors. The inductive sensor (a differential transformer) is fabricated on top of an electronic chip, which contains all the electronics necessary for sensor-operation, interpolationlinearization and interfacing (the picture shows a device with coils and electronics on two separate chips).

Standard products and customized solutions
