Linear Encoder

A linear encoder kit consists of an encoder-head and a linear scale. This type of linear encoder is often referred to as kit encoder, frameless encoder or exposed encoder. The linear encoder heads are available in two versions: as a read-head with a cable to be glued into an application or as an encoder-chip that is suitable for surface-mount assembly. The scale is a Printed Circuit Board with copper patterns that is easy to mount and that can easily be cut to the desired length. You can even make your own PCB-scale. Below you find an overview of POSIC's linear encoders.

POSIC is a Swiss company and delivers its linear encoders worldwide.
